The cookie thief

How often have you been absolutely convinced of something, only to find out later that you were mistaken?
The story teaches us an all important lesson to never assume. At every stride of our life we make assumptions .It’s easy to jump on to conclusions but harder to rationalize. We should learn to question our assumptions. We should learn to give benefit of doubt of others. Or else things may well come back and ‘bite’ us somewhere rather unpleasant.

A woman was waiting at an airport one night, with several long hours before her flight. She hunted for a book in the airport shops, bought a bag of cookies and found a place to drop.

She was engrossed in her book but happened to see, that the man sitting beside her, as bold as could be. . .grabbed a cookie or two from the bag in between, which she tried to ignore to avoid a scene.

So she munched the cookies and watched the clock, as the gutsy cookie thief diminished her stock. She was getting more irritated as the minutes ticked by, thinking, “If I wasn’t so nice, I would blacken his eye.”

With each cookie she took, he took one too, when only one was left, she wondered what he would do. With a smile on his face, and a nervous laugh, he took the last cookie and broke it in half.

He offered her half, as he ate the other, she snatched it from him and thought… oooh, brother. This guy has some nerve and he’s also rude, why he didn’t even show any gratitude!

She had never known when she had been so galled, and sighed with relief when her flight was called. She gathered her belongings and headed to the gate, refusing to look back at the thieving ingrate.

She boarded the plane, and sank in her seat, then she sought her book, which was almost complete. As she reached in her baggage, she gasped with surprise, there was her bag of cookies, in front of her eyes.

If mine are here, she moaned in despair, the others were his, and he tried to share. Too late to apologize, she realized with grief, that she was the rude one, the ingrate, the thief.

Two sides of the same coin

There Is Always, Always, Always Something To Be Thankful For..................

A famous writer was in his study room. He picked up his pen and started writing:

**Last year, I had a surgery and my gallbladder was removed. I had to stay stuck to the bed due to this surgery for a long time.

**The same year I reached the age of 60 years and had to give up my favorite job. I had spent 30 years of my life in this publishing company.

**The same year I experienced the sorrow of the death of my father.

**And in the same year my son failed in his medical exam because he had a car accident. He had to stay in bed at hospital with the cast on for several days. The destruction of car was another loss.

At the end he wrote: Alas! It was such bad year!!

When the writer's wife entered the room, she found her husband looking sad lost in his thoughts. From behind his back she read what was written on the paper. She left the room silently and came back with another paper and placed it on the side of her husband's writing.

When the writer saw this paper, he found this written on it:

**Last year I finally got rid of my gall bladder due to which I had spent years in pain.

**I turned 60 with sound health and got retired from my job. Now I can utilize my time to write something better with more focus and peace.

**The same year my father, at the age of 95, without depending on anyone or without any critical condition met his Creator.

**The same year, God blessed my son with a new life. My car was destroyed but my son stayed alive without getting any disability.

At the end she wrote: This year was an immense blessing of God and it passed well!

See! The same incidents but different viewpoints. If we ponder with this viewpoint that what could have happened more, we would truly become thankful to the Almighty.

Moral : In our daily lives we must see that it's not happiness that makes us grateful but gratefulness that makes us happy.
There is always, always, always something to be thankful for!! Stay Blessed!

Whose mistake?

Whose mistake?

Once there lived a noble Guru known for his wisdom and compassion. One of his disciple started complaining that his Guru did not teach him anything valuable despite spending 20 years at his service. Hearing his complaint, the Guru handed him the responsibility of bringing lunch for Guru Kul(school) every day from neighborhood.

The disciple had to travel on foot few miles, carry the food to Guru Kul and serve food to his Guru. While getting food from neighborhood he befriended a caged parrot to whom he complaint his Guru's lack of willingness to teach him. The parrot replied, "Oh my friend! I have heard great things about the noble Guru. Are you sure you were mindful in the process of learning?". Frustrated disciple shouted, "After all you are a parrot, you don't question my intelligence". Disappointed with his arrogance, the parrot put an end to the conversation.

Few days later, when the disciple came to get lunch, the gloomy parrot told him, "My master has decided to sacrifice me after two days" and requested him, "Please ask the Guru a solution to save my life". The lethargic disciple said, "He has not taught me anything after spending 20 years with him. How would he be helpful to you?". But as the parrot pleaded he decided to discuss with his Guru.

The next day, the curious parrot asked him for the solution. The disciple said, "I told your misery to the Guru. When I asked for a solution, the Guru simply lied on the floor motionless for a while and went away. I am sure he is not willing to teach anything. I am sorry for your fate".

The next day, the disciple saw an empty cage. He felt bad for his friend's death. He met his friend's master to confirm the death. The angry master yelled, "That was a wicked creature. When I went to open the cage, it was lying motionless as dead. Shocked, I opened the cage and took it out for examination. Suddenly, the parrot flew away and escaped".

Hearing this, the disciple realized the parrot has learnt from his Guru without even meeting him once but he had wasted 20 years. Now he found where the lack of willingness actually was.

Story of three Saints

Read this story once , twice or thrice........

One women saw 3 saints in front of her house. And she was not knowing any of them.

Women said –
“kindly come inside and have food”

Saint replied – "is your husband inside the house? ”

Women – “no, he has gone out”

Saint –“will come inside the house only when he has come”

In the evening the woman's husband comes home and she tells the complete story about the saints.

Husband – “go and tell them I have come home and invite them inside the house.”

Women went out and called the saints inside the house.

Saint said – “we all dont go inside anyones house together. ”

“but why?” – women asked

One of the saint replied – “my name is wealth”

Then he pointed  to other saints and said –
“these two saints names are prosperity and love"

Only one of us can come inside your house!

"U go in and discuss with your family and decide which saint you want to invite ”

Women went inside and told all this to her husband.

Her husband became too excited

And said –“if this is the matter then let us invite wealth! Our house will be filled with happiness”

Wife – “I feel we should invite prosperity”

Their daughter was in the next room , she was listening to all this discussions.  She came close to them and said –
“I feel we should invite love. Beside love nothing is important”

“you are  right, we should invite love only” – her parents agreed.

Women went out and asked saints –
“Between you all who is love please come inside the house”

Love started walking towards the house!

Other two saints started following love.

The surprised women asked the saints –
“i only invited love then why you two are coming inside the house?”

One of the saint replied – “if you had invited prosperity or wealth, then only that particular saint would have entered your house.

But you have invited love!

Love never walks alone,
Where ever  love is, there is always prosperity and wealth. They all go hand in hand.

Read this story once , twice or thrice

If you like it stay with love,

Spread love, give love and take love.

As love is the only secret to success !!

Couldn't stop myself from sharing this Excellent message ..

Couldn't stop myself from sharing this Excellent message ..

A bus full of passengers was traveling while.
suddenly the weather changed and there was a huge downpour and lightening all around.

They could see that the lightening would appear to come towards the bus and then go elsewhere.

After 2 or 3 horrible instances of being saved from lightening, the driver stopped the bus about fifty feet away from a tree and said -

"We have somebody in the bus whose death is a certainty today."

Because of that person everybody else will also get killed today.

Now listen carefully what I am saying ..

I want each person to come out of bus one by one and touch the tree trunk and come back.

Whom so ever death is certain will get caught up by the lightening and will die & everybody else will be saved".

They had to force the 1st person to go and touch the tree and come back.

He reluctantly got down from the bus and went and touched the tree.

His heart leaped with joy when nothing happened and he was still alive.

This continued for rest of the passengers who were all relieved when they touched the tree and nothing happened.

When the last passenger's turn came, everybody looked at him with accusing eyes.

That passenger was very afraid and reluctant since he was the only one left.

Everybody forced him to get down and go and touch the tree.

With a 100% fear of death in mind, the last passenger walked to the tree and touched it.

There was a huge sound of thunder and the lightening came down and hit the bus - yes the lightening hit the bus, and killed each and every passenger inside the bus.

It was because of the presence of this last passenger that, earlier, the entire bus was safe and the lightening could not strike the bus.

LIFE LEARNING from this..

At times, we try to take credit for our present achievements, but this could also be because of a person right next to us.

Look around you - Probably someone is there around you, in the form of Your Parents, Your Spouse, Your Children, Your Siblings, Your friends, etc, who are saving you from harm..!

Think About it..

You will surely find that Person..!!
